LE CHOW CHOW

Le Chow Chow is a coffee house and roastery with tropical vibes in downtown Minneapolis. The logo is bold, wide, and reminiscent of 19th-century advertisements normally found on the sides of buildings. The letters are set quite wide and can easily contain a bright, tropical pattern but also work in reverse with the logo on top of the pattern. To contrast the boldness of the name we rendered an elegant, script typeface for “Le.” The four letters in Chow Chow are non identical, each having their own shapes and irregularities, further emphasizing their hand-drawn distinctions.

Instead of copying and pasting the logo, the packaging uses elements from the identity's kit of parts that include the tropical pattern, color scheme, individual letters, and the dog illustration (woof!). These parts can be reassembled to create new patterns, depending on the application.
